Berlin Dining
Berlin is a great city for dining out, with many restaurants to suit every pocket. Eating out in Berlin is incredibly inexpensive compared to any other Western European capital or other German cities. People who take care of their budget can always stop at an small huts where you can stand and eat. These are called as Imbiss (means “snack” center). Here you can eat your Bratwurst in a bun or a Currywurst.
There are many cafés where breakfast is offered till afternoon. Feasting on cakes or very special international breakfast dishes is very popular.
Berlin’s traditional dishes are tasty and simple. These are mainly based on roasted meat, potatoes and vegetable salad. Guest is served with the best known dish called “Boulette” (fried meatballs). The Currywurst is another Berlin tradition dish. This is a Brockwurst, but smoked and boiled instead of grilled, and then sliced up and served in thick curry flavored ketchup. In spring season you can try white asparagus. Vegetarian dishes can also be found in each and every restaurant.
Generally, breakfast is served 7-11 am, lunch noon-4 pm and dinner 6 pm-midnight. Most of the restaurants will serve you until midnight.
Cafes are very popular in Berlin. They serve breakfast in the morning, light bristo fare in the afternoon and drinks during night. They dish out kaffee and kuchen (coffee and cake), as an afternoon ritual.
“Berliner Weiße” (beer with juice) is pretty famous and one must definitely try it.

Berlin, the heart of Germany is a huge city with several districts. Berlin creates an important source of recreation and leisure time to visitors through numerous beach bars along the river Spree, countless cafes, restaurants, nightlife and green spaces.
Berlin is multicultural and many cultures’ cuisine is represented in modified form to suit German tastes. There is also a wide choice of restaurants that offer exquisite meals from around the world. Almost every nation’s cuisine is represented and reflects Berlin’s diversity once again. Berlin restaurants seems like a carnivore heaven with all the sausage stands but Vegetarians can also eat quite well with a little bit of research and menu modification. Falafels are very famous, tasty and suitable for vegetarians. Many kebab restaurants have a good selection of roasted vegetables and salads.
Mostly restaurants in upper market accept all types of credit cards. Prices in the menu are included value added tax but some restaurants charge some additional service charge. The Custom in Germany is to tell the waiter how much you are paying when you receive the bill.
