The Poas Volcano is a stratovolcano located in the central valley region of Costa Rica. Its main attractive relies on its beautiful lagoon formed after 39 eruptions dating back to 1828. The Botos lagoon is surrounded by dense Costa Rican forest and has the most eye captivating blue waters. Another nearby attraction is the “La Paz Waterfalls” about 4 km northwest of the city of Poasito, La Paz is also a wildlife reserve and nature park, where you can visit places as the serpentarium, hummingbird garden, ranarium and after all the fun enjoy lunch in the Colibries Restaurant.
